The economic centre of Barcelona between the 13th and the 15th century, La Ribera remained an upper class quarter until the 19th century, when the wealthy people of Barcelona started to invest in the newly built Eixample. Within these buildings, behind their decorated façades there lives a young, intellectual and bohemian-spirited population.
