About this photo...
Built in the 14th century on a very ancient cult place, Santa Maria del Mar was designed by architect Berenguer de Montagut. The austerity of its façade doesn’t really make you imagine that the proportions inside are surprisingly unordinary nor would you think that the cathedral would have a very good luminosity inside. Of a Gothic style, the church has double lateral naves, slightly shorter than the high central nave. This photo has been viewed 1955 times
