A few yards away from the cathedral, yet a little bit away from the touristic flux, you will find the beautiful Medieval ensemble of the Plaça del Rei. Here you will see the Palau del Tinell Reial Major with its elevated façade, the chapel of Santa Agueda, and at your left, the Palau del Lloctinent, still known as Palacio del Lugarteniente. On this very place, inside the house of Clariana-Padellas, the Museum of the City History is located. Within the Gothic salon of the Tinell inside the Palacio Reial, the Catholic Kings of Spain Ferdinand and Isabel once received Christopher Columbus upon his return from his first journey.
