In the heart of the Roman and Medieval Barcelona, the Carrer del Bisbe Irurita (Street of Bishop Irurita) serves as a link between the Plaça Sant Jaume, headquarters of the Generalitat de Catalunya, with the Plaça Nova and the La Seu Cathedral. The succesful gothic alleyway spanning over the narrow street was actually built at the beginning of the 20th century.
